'NAZARENE' MEANS 'BRANCH'

(1)Matthew 2:22;
    ~"22:And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene." (KJV).
    ~'Nazarene' means 'Branch'.
    ~The prophets had prophesied about Jesus Christ being a 'Branch' of Jesse the father of King David.
    ~The prophets were: Isaiah, Jeremiah & Zechariah. Read: (3),(4),(5),(6) and (7); about what these prophets prophesied in the 'OLD TESTAMENT' then.
    ~To fulfill what the prophets had prophesied about Jesus Christ being 'The Branch of David', God had to make a city called 'Nazareth'; such that Jesus Christ is taken there to grow and become a citizen- thus a "NAZARENE".

(2)Isaiah 11:1;
    ~"1:And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:" (KJV).

(3)Isaiah 60:21;
    ~"21:Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified." (KJV).

(4)Jeremiah 23:5;
    ~"5:Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth." (KJV).

(5)Jeremiah 33:15;
    ~"15:In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land." (KJV).

(6)Zechariah 3:8;
    ~"8:Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch." (KJV).

(7)Zechariah 6:12;
    ~"12:And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord:" (KJV).

(8)Acts 24:5;
    ~Paul was of the sect of the 'Nazarenes' for he had even turned to be a ringleader.

(9)Revelation 22:16;
    ~"16:I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." (KJV).
   ~Compare with 'Isaiah 11:1'.
    ~Jesus Christ Himself, through John, testified in churches, using an angel, that He was the 'Branch of David' that had been prophesied by the above mentioned prophets.
    ~Jesus Christ was that 'BRANCH OF DAVID'; He is a 'Nazarene' which means a 'Branch'. He had to be a citizen of 'Nazareth'.
    ~So, stop confusing yourself about 'Matthew 2:22'.
